In this week’s episode, Julia chats with high fantasy author Danielle (Dani) Lauren about writing and publishing her debut novel ‘Spiritchild’ in 2022. They discuss:

  • her publishing process and why she did it slightly differently to the norm
  • how she got her books into Waterstones and other bookshops
  • and what she learnt from the experience.

Danielle Lauren has been a writer as long as she can remember. From tiny books that fit inside matchboxes to full-length novels, she has always found joy in creating fantastical tales. As long as there is magic involved, there’s a story to be told.

She  lives in a small town in England with her husband, two wild boys, and one lazy greyhound.

As well as writing them, Danielle devours fantasy stories in every form, while subsisting mainly on dark chocolate and green tea.

She cherishes time spent with friends and family. She hates rollercoasters, and waiting in for deliveries.

She self-published Spiritchild early in 2022. The sequel, Earthchild, is her second novel.
